House Rules
We’re here to celebrate the best. No dunking, no “gotchas.” If it’s not a win, it’s a quiet pass.
Transparent by default. No pay-to-play. Ever.
We disclose everything. Comps flagged, invites noted, receipts saved.
Kind to staff, firm on standards. Big fans of hospitality—and big tippers.
Local love, zero gatekeeping. We share the good stuff, period.
We correct ourselves. Menus change and so can our minds!
Who We Are
We’re the two forks behind Yellow City Table. We fell in love the way most good food stories start: passing plates and arguing (politely) about who ordered better. Years, cities, and many excellent bites later, we came home to Amarillo with a simple idea—make it easier to eat well, whether it’s a Tuesday taco or an anniversary steak.
Megg is the planner, the highlight-reel editor, and the person who can scan a menu and build a three-course game plan in 30 seconds. She’s our resident seat-scout (knows which banquette gets the best light), keeper of the “when to go” gospel, and the one writing the notes you actually want—portion honesty, price sanity, and what to pair with it. If a post reads like a friend texting you the exact thing to order, that’s Megg.
Megg’s Superpowers: ruthless menu triage, map-making, turning chef chatter into plain English, adding the one line that makes you feel “in on it.”
Dirk is the kitchen brain and the “does it actually taste good?” filter. He’s equal parts flavor nerd and pragmatist—testing sauces, timing, and textures until a home dish lands like restaurant quality without the drama. Out in the wild, he’s the palate you want evaluating steaks, smoke rings, and whether that “signature” sauce really sings.
Dirk’s Superpowers: balanced seasoning, gear sanity checks (what you need vs. what’s hype), and the most diplomatic way to say “this needs salt.”
